Our Grant Process
Sunrise Youth Fund funds programs for youth ages 7-20 years old in the Denver area. From sports teams to art workshops, leadership training to mentoring programs, we seek to provide opportunities for young individuals to discover their passions and talents. We make grants ranging from $5,000-$15,000 to 501(c)3 organizations.
For Organizations:
If you would like to apply for a grant, we request that you first submit a one-page letter of inquiry to sunriseyouthfund@gmail.com. Letters of inquiry and proposals are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Programs that would like to apply for a grant must:
Be 501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations under Title 26 of the United States Code
Serve youth ages 7-20 who live in the Denver area
Incorporate sports, arts, or leadership activities during out-of-school hours
Provide opportunities for youth that would otherwise not have access to the activities offered through the program
If the initial letter of inquiry suggests a good fit between an organization’s programs and the mission of The Sunrise Youth Fund, we’ll request a full grant proposal and budget. Preference will be given to proposals that:
Describe a compelling Theory of Change and fit within an organization’s overall Strategic Plan.
Describe how the program provides opportunities that would otherwise not be available to participating youth.
Clearly state Goals, Objectives, and Metrics for Success.
Have a plan for tracking the results of the project using both qualitative and quantitative measures.
Provide a detailed budget with a reasonable allocation of expenditures between administrative, overhead, and program costs.
